Meet Dr. Richard Pickens
Veterinarian
Dr. Pickens has had a lifelong passion for working with animals. He earned his undergraduate degree from Furman University in 2008 and spent several years working as a wildlife biologist before pursuing his veterinary degree. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021 and has been practicing at Paw Prints Animal Hospital ever since.
Dr. Pickens is particularly committed to client education as the basis for a collaborative approach to medicine, believing that well-informed owners are empowered owners. He firmly believes this inclusive partnership leads to the best medical outcomes for both pets and their families.
Outside of the clinic, he enjoys spending time at home with his daughter, Liza, his partner, Laura, and their two cats and two dogs.
